Job Summary:
Telemetry (RN) Night Shift Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized bedside care for patients in a telemetry unit, with a focus on neurology-related diagnoses. The role requires adaptability, proficiency in using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and experience working on neurological or neurosurgical units.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state (compact license accepted), at least 1 year of recent nursing experience, experience with patient ratios of approximately 4-5 patients per nurse, proficiency in charting with Epic Electronic Health Record system, and certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, neuro assessments, and traumatic brain injury is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in neurology or neurosurgery units, familiarity with neuro-specific procedures such as stroke protocols and Thrombectomy Capable Designation, and competence in interpreting dysrhythmias.
- Additional Information: The position requires float capability between units based on hospital needs. Candidates must be flexible to work two of the five designated holidays and adhere to specified scheduling requests made during submittal. The assignment involves working on a stroke-designated unit with epilepsy and spine center designations, emphasizing neuro-related diagnoses.
