Description:
The unit has a total of 24 beds.
There are 36 staff members on the unit.
During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs or LVNs, 2 aides, and 1 unit clerk.
The night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs or LVNs, and 2 aides.
The patient ratio is 1:6.
The unit is equipped with various medical equipment including Computers on Wheels, BP machines, Dopplers, bladder scanners, heating pads, Hoyer lifts, Sara Steady, sit-to-stand devices, traction equipment, SCDs, IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, Ambit pain pumps, KCI and Prevena wound vacs, and an EMR system.
The typical procedures performed on the unit include daily weights, vital signs, intake and output monitoring, hourly rounding, bedside report, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac and heparin infusions, phototherapy, wound care, IV starts, admissions and discharges of patients, nasogastric tube placements, and Foley catheter care.
Candidates should possess strong self-motivation, initiative, and teamwork skills.
Weekend work is required, with a schedule of every other weekend or two weekends a month.
Holiday shifts are also required.
