Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 20 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Prior travel experience - Experience managing continuous IV medications Description: HARD STOP: Confirm experience managing the following medications upon submission to avoid delays. Cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin. Diuretics: Bumex, Lasix. Anticoagulants: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin. Insulin drips. Minimum experience of 2 years is required. First-time travelers are not accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. General skills required include overflow intermediate care unit, arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac congestive heart failure, chest pain, renal, and pulmonary conditions. Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias (stable atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, bradycardia) is essential. Occasional surgical patients include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and those with chest tubes or biliary drains. Management of occasional vascular patients and post-cardiac catheterization is necessary. Experience with TR Bands and all basic medical-surgical responsibilities is required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5-6. Unit systems include electronic health records. Scrub color is navy blue. Holidays and weekends may require work as scheduled. Full compliance is mandatory to start on time. The candidate will be reviewed clinically to determine suitability for the role. The description includes care of patients post-procedure and the ability to manage various cardiac medications without titration. Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring is a must. A telemetry competency exam is required.
