Unit consists of 8 inpatient beds plus 8 admission unit beds. Occasionally, the unit can flex up to 12 inpatient beds depending on overall hospital census. Staff includes 10 members. Day shift staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA. Night shift staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA. Patient ratios are a maximum of 6:1. Standard EMR used is Meditech. The unit typically cares for medical/surgical patients. The most recruited skill set includes acute medical/surgical experience and the ability to manage multiple patients. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of acute medical/surgical experience within the last year. Experience in orthopedic or neurosurgery is preferred, but a medical/surgical/telemetry background is sufficient.
