The RN will be responsible for taking care of patients with a significant history of cardiac disease or related processes. These positions have been opened to help stabilize staffing for the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit. Traveling nurses will assist with staffing needs and may be called upon to precept new hires as recruitment for core positions continues. A high degree of engagement and willingness to train others is essential. The RN will primarily float to other acute care med/surg units as needed. Typical disease processes include Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure, Advanced Heart Failure, Syncope, and patients requiring echocardiograms, stress tests, or diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization. The unit also handles patients undergoing procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, TAVR, etc. Generalized med/surg patients may be overflowed to this unit, or other non-cardiac patients may be taken care of as required.
