Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit, working directly with post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting. License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Critical Care Certification preferred; trauma course preferred. Must-Have: Experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting, ventilators, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, Level 1 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Description: This is an 18-bed unit providing care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery. The unit also cares for patients receiving cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and the placement of ventricular assist devices. The nurse/patient ratio is either 1:1 or 1:2.
