Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating 7A/7P Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Trained and worked in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the operating room. License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Current experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting. Description: This unit provides care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and the placement of ventricular assist devices. Nurses will manage patients on ventilators, CRRT, and those with epicardial wires or pacemakers. Nurses will also be responsible for titration of vasoactive drips and management of Level 1 IABP and ECMO. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2. Preferred certifications include ACLS, Critical Care Certification, a trauma course, and experience with Epic.
