Job Opportunity – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) RN – Pennsylvania

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Pennsylvania

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every 3rd weekend requirement. Floating to other units as needed based on census. Block scheduling not available.

Highlights:

• High-acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit with diverse case mix including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic interventions, and liver transplants
• Level 1 Trauma center experience with exposure to MVA, falls, gunshot wounds, and open abdomens
• 16-bed unit with average daily census of 14 patients; collaborative interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Advanced equipment and procedures including CRRT, mechanical ventilation, ICP monitoring, EVDs, arterial lines, central lines, and chest tube management
• EPIC charting system with 8-hour orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience required

Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Patient ratio experience of 1:2 required
• Proficiency in managing ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central lines, and complex surgical ICU cases
• Experience with liver transplant, neurosurgery, and post-craniotomy care highly valued
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• PA state fingerprinting and background clearance required
• Clinical competency assessment required for clearance
