Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license in hand upon submittal Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - High acuity ICU experience - Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps - Epic experience - Transplant experience (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas) Description: The Registered Nurse will provide high acuity care in a surgical intensive care setting. Patient ratio is 1:2. The role may require floating to other ICUs and special care units. The candidate will care for post-operative patients including cardiac surgery and transplant recovery. Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy is required. Skills in managing ventilated patients and various IV access and monitoring techniques are essential. The position involves the management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure. Involvement in emergencies may be required as assigned by the unit manager. All applicants must be comfortable with emergency responsibilities. No block scheduling requests will be accommodated. Transplant experience is essential.
