Must-Have:
- Experience in cardiac monitoring
- Experience with central venous pressure monitoring
- Experience in post-cardiac surgery care
- Experience in pre/post cardiac catheter interventions
- Continuous renal replacement therapy experience
- IV therapy experience
- Ability to manage blood product administration and central line management
- Competence in chest tube insertion and care of ventilated patients
Description:
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."
There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or to be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.
Travelers should be comfortable with this requirement.
Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.
Floating to other Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Step-Down Units (SDUs) may be required.
Epic experience is required.
Patient ratios are 1:2.
The unit cares for cardiac surgery patients, transplant patients, general surgery, and medicine overflow.
High acuity experience is preferred, including transplant recovery experience for liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung.
Candidates should be able to work weekends every other week.
Nurse-driven protocols and experiences with multiple organ dysfunction or failure are a plus.
