Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required License: Valid state or compact nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU preferred - Patient ratio experience: 2 patients per nurse - Ability to float to different units as needed Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The position requires availability for 36 hours per week. Candidates must have two years of recent ICU experience. Experience in trauma, burn, or transplant care is preferred. Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are required. Nurses will be responsible for managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction and failure. Essential skills include arterial line management, care for ventilated patients, and IV medication administration. Floating to different units may be necessary based on staffing needs. Call may be required on occasion. The facility serves adults and geriatric patients with various surgical and trauma diagnoses. State-of-the-art equipment, such as ventilators and invasive monitoring devices, will be utilized. The unit supports an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates must adhere to compliance deadlines and credentialing requirements. Two professional references, including one from a supervisor or manager, will be required. All candidates must possess a valid nursing license at the time of application.
