Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Surgical Intensive Care Unit / Oncology – Ohio
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Day/Night Rotating or Night shift options available; 2:1 patient ratio; Scheduling assignments reviewed every 4-week period based on departmental needs
Highlights:

- Gain experience with advanced procedures including CRRT, EVD management, ICP monitoring, and massive transfusion protocol
- Epic EMR system used facility-wide
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 72-hour orientation provided to ensure successful integration
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted for this assignment)
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
Clinical Skills & Competencies:
- Ventilator management and care of mechanically ventilated patients
- Titration of vasoactive drips and cardiac medications
- CRRT/CVVHD management
- Arterial line and central line management
- BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula management
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Blood product administration and massive transfusion protocol
- Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Interpretation of ABGs and cardiac dysrhythmias
Patient Population:
- Adult patients with diagnoses including hemorrhagic and hypovolemic shock, sepsis and septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), craniotomy, intracranial hypertension, and delirium
Float Requirements:
- May float to MICU or other SICU units as needed; occasional float to Medical/Surgical or Progressive Care units possible
Compliance & Onboarding:
- Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date
- Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing; candidates must be responsive to credentialing requirements
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Former employees eligible after 6+ months away from facility
