- Experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and/or Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Independent and competent ability to work with complex, high acuity medical and trauma/neuro/surgical ICU patients
Description:
Must have experience in MICU and/or SICU.
This is not a novice or entry-level position.
Independent and competent ability to work with complex, high acuity medical and trauma/neuro/surgical ICU patients is required.
Will consider block schedule for day/night shifts.
Floating will be primarily within the Critical Care Division.
However, staff may float to other units as needed based on census needs.
Weekend needs will vary based on the needs of the unit.
Daily census is approximately 26 patients.
Unit includes both medical and surgical/trauma/neurosurgical patients.
Special procedures and conditions treated include ARDS, AHRF, COPD, sepsis, cardiac surgery, and ECMO, as well as head injury, trauma, stroke, and general surgery.
Additional support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary.
Staff members will be required to manage various complex medical conditions and equipment.
Patient ratios typically range from 2 patients per nurse on day and night shifts.
Candidates must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
