Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Stepdown/Telemetry RN – Virginia

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Rotating 4x12-hour shifts, days and nights; every other weekend required

Highlights:

  • 13-week assignment with 24 hours of orientation
  • Cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU
  • 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts
  • Epic charting system with accelerated or 2-day training provided based on experience
  • 21-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

  • Active Virginia RN license or Compact license (must be active and in-hand at time of submission)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications current
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Strong cardiac telemetry and stepdown experience required
  • Demonstrated competency managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias
  • Experience with cardiovascular stepdown patients and continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Epic charting experience required; start date determined by level of Epic proficiency
  • Prior experience with cardiac surgery patients, telemetry interpretation, central line management, and cardiac/vasoactive drip management
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered per CMS guidelines)
