Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown – South Carolina

Schedule: Night shift. 36- or 48-hour work weeks accepted. 13 to 26 week assignment with extension options. Patient ratio 1:4. Orientation: 36 hours.
Highlights:
- Cardiac Stepdown unit specializing in STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, pacemaker and defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow
- 22-bed unit with daily census of approximately 20 patients serving adult and geriatric populations
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Pre-assignment modules are billable up to 16 hours and completed prior to start date
- Orientation begins on Mondays with structured onboarding process
- Must be willing to float to other qualified units as needed based on census requirements
Requirements:
- Active RN license in South Carolina or compact state licensure
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience (required)
- Strong cardiac stepdown or progressive care experience required
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Must pass medication and arrhythmia examination
- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Must meet distance requirements for travel nursing eligibility
Skills and Competencies:
- Blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management
- Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Heparin protocols and titration of cardiac drips
- Pre/post cardiac catheterization care and post-MI management
- IV insertion and maintenance, peripheral line care, PCA pumps
- Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, CVA care
- Isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, use of rapid response/code teams
