Job Opportunity – Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse – South Carolina
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: South Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48-hour weekly schedules available, 4:1 patient ratio, 13 to 26-week contract options
Highlights:
- Cardiac stepdown unit with 22 beds and daily census of 20 patients
- Patient population includes STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, pacemaker/defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow
- Epic EMR charting system with 36-hour orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Up to two pre-approved time off periods during assignment
- Reimbursable pre-assignment modules (up to 16 hours)
Requirements:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience (required)
- Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Strong cardiac stepdown experience with demonstrated expertise in arrhythmia interpretation and management
- Must pass medical and arrhythmia competency examinations
- Experience with 4:1 patient ratios
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, titrating cardiac drips, chest tubes, central line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and tracheostomy care
