Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Surgical Stepdown – Kansas

Start Date: October 5, 2026 (additional orientation dates available bi-weekly through November 30, 2026)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation

Highlights:

• 28-bed post-surgical unit specializing in bariatric, urology, nephrology, and general surgical procedures
• Epic charting system with test-out option available
• Magnet-designated, 586-bed tertiary care hospital committed to High Reliability Organization culture
• 26-51 week contract preferred; longer contracts receive priority consideration
• 1:6 staffing ratio with float opportunities to other post-surgical and medical-surgical units
• One requested holiday off permitted per contract period

Requirements:

• Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (clean record required, no exceptions)
• AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year progressive care or stepdown nursing experience required
• ADN or BSN degree
• Previous travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Vaccination requirements: Immunity status or proof of Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, Influenza (or exemption), and TB documentation
