Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Surgical Stepdown – Kansas
Start Date: October 5, 2026 (additional orientation dates available: 10/19/26, 11/02/26, 11/16/26, 11/30/26)
Location: Kansas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation required (2 federal holidays per year; 1 spring and 2 winter non-essential holidays; may request 1 holiday off)
Highlights:
- 28-bed post-surgical stepdown unit specializing in urology, bariatric surgery, infectious processes, and other post-operative care
- Patient population includes bariatric reduction, urologic/nephrology surgeries, wound/ulcer interventions, osteomyelitis, GI diseases, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and amputations
- Epic charting system with test-out option available
- 26-week contract posted; facility prefers longer contracts (26-51 weeks) with priority given to extended commitments
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6

Requirements:
- Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (no encumbrances allowed)
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year progressive care/stepdown experience required
- ADN or BSN degree
- Previous travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Immunization documentation: Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella immunity or proof of vaccination series; TDaP vaccine; TB documentation; Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season
- Float to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors as needed
- Must provide interview availability, requested time off (maximum 10 days for 26+ week contract; 5 days for shorter contracts), and contract length preferences at time of application
