Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Step-Down – Kansas
Start Date: October 5, 2026 (additional orientation dates available bi-weekly through November 30, 2026)
Location: Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation

- 32-bed post-surgical unit specializing in colorectal surgery and major abdominal procedures including colectomy, bowel resection, ostomy care, hernia repair, urological procedures, orthopedic surgery, and specialty wound care
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio with float opportunities to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors
- Epic charting system with test-out option available
- Contract length: 26 to 51 weeks preferred (longer contracts receive priority; 13-week contracts considered case-by-case)
- Holiday time-off policy: Healthcare professionals may request 1 holiday off; facility observes 2 federal holidays per year plus spring and winter non-essential holidays

Requirements
- Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (no license issues accepted)
- AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
- ADN or BSN degree
- Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Immunity documentation: Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella (titer or proof of vaccination series), TDaP vaccine, TB documentation, and Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season
