We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Step-Down unit. The RN will care for patients who require closer monitoring and more intensive nursing care than a general medical-surgical floor can provide.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of critical care or step-down experience, strong assessment skills, and the ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients requiring medical step-down-level care.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs and clinical status.
- Recognize signs of deterioration and promptly escalate concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor patients closely and communicate changes in condition to physicians and the healthcare team.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support safe, effective patient care.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
- Follow hospital policies, patient-safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of critical care or step-down nursing experience.
- Current Ohio RN license.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Current AHA ACLS certification.
