# Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Progressive Care Unit RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs

Highlights:
  • 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care
  • Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients
  • Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required; ICU and PCU backgrounds welcome
  • 72-hour comprehensive orientation provided
  • Strong interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience
  • Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line management, PCA pumps, cardiac drip management, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
  • Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Preferred Skills:
  • Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience
  • IV and insulin drip titration protocols
  • Wound care and wound vac management
  • Arterial line management
  • Phlebotomy skills
