Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia and Hematology – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs; variable weekend coverage based on unit requirements
Highlights:
- 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology unit caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, with maximum of 1:5
- 72 hours of orientation provided
- EPIC computerized charting system
- Strong interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services
- No chemotherapy certification required (ONS Chemo Cert preferred)
- May float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience
- Current, consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management
- PICC line management and peripheral line care experience
- Competency in feeding tube care and management
- EPIC charting experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager/director or formal supervisor
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Additional Information:
This is a travel nursing assignment with strict compliance requirements. Candidates must be prepared to complete Ohio fingerprinting immediately upon contract signing. One period of pre-approved time off is available and must be identified at submission. Former employees are eligible after 6 months away from the facility. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
