Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other/third weekend required. Floating within the hospital system required.
Highlights:
- Diverse surgical patient population including burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial cases
- Specialized procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
- Epic charting system utilized
- First-time travelers accepted (profiles reviewed individually by management)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
- Adult and geriatric patient population
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of progressive care/step-down nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Core skills: telemetry monitoring, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, IV insulin and heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, PCA management, and specialized surgical drain care
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
