This specialized Progressive Care Unit position offers the chance to work with a diverse patient population, including oncology patients with solid tumors and hematologic conditions, as well as general medical patients requiring intermediate-level care. Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating day/night schedule (every 4 weeks), every other weekend (Friday & Saturday)

Highlights:

• Rotating shift schedule with 4-week blocks – work the same straight shifts for 4 weeks, then rotate to opposite shift for the next 4 weeks
• Progressive Care Unit specializing in oncology and general medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• 34-bed daily census in a specialized corrections unit setting with 44 total beds
• Epic EMR system experience preferred; 32 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care experience in PCU/Step-Down/Telemetry nursing
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Previous telemetry experience with strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
• First-time travelers welcome (profiles subject to manager review)

This is a corrections unit serving inmates, requiring access coordination with corrections officers in a secure, locked unit environment.
