Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Central Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Float may be required to other units within the health system as needed.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (Surgical Step-Down) providing care for post-surgical and general medicine patients
• Patient ratio of 3-4:1 with all attempts to maintain 3:1 for optimal care delivery
• Epic electronic medical record system in use
• Telemetry monitoring required; must demonstrate competency via telemetry skills assessment
• 24 hours of orientation provided to support successful transition to the unit
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with one year of experience will be individually reviewed by leadership

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and patient care in a progressive care, step-down, or intermediate care setting
• Proficiency in skills including IV management, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, titration of insulin drips, wound care, and non-invasive airway management
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Must pass facility telemetry competency assessment
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed promptly upon contract signing
