# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – OhioStart Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend requiredHighlights:
  • Progressive Care Unit with mixed acuity including pre and post surgical patients
  • Patient ratio optimized for quality care with daily census of 25-32 patients
  • Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
  • 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours of comprehensive orientation
  • Float required within the hospital system; call coverage included
  • First-time travelers welcome (candidates with only 1 year of experience subject to manager review)
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central line care, and advanced monitoring equipment
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Care for adult patients with various medical diagnoses and surgical conditions
  • Manage cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Competency in arterial line management, chest tubes, PICC lines, and port access
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer blood products, manage heparin and IV insulin protocols
  • Wound care including wound vac management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
