**Job Description:**
- **Unit Information:**
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Floor: 5th floor
- Number of Beds: 40
- **Staffing Overview:**
- Day Shift:
- 1 Charge Nurse
- 10 Staff Bedside Nurses
- 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- 1 Unit Secretary
- Night Shift:
- 1 Charge Nurse
- 10 Staff Bedside Nurses
- 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- **Patient Ratios:**
- 1:4 normal
- Stretch Staffing: 1:5 ratio
- **Patient Profiles:**
- Conditions: CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension,
valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA,
post-cardiac cath/stent,
post-pacer/ICD/ablation.
- **Equipment Utilized:**
- Zoll monitors
- Baxter pumps
- Lift equipment
- Bladder scanners
- **EMR System:**
- Cerner
- **Ideal Candidate Skills:**
- **Must Have:**
- Stepdown or progressive care experience
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone,
dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
- **Preferred Skills:**
- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge experience
- **Typical Procedures Performed:**
- Bedside cardioversion
- **Personality Fit:**
- Flexible and positive attitude
- Great team player
- Compassionate demeanor
- **Certifications Required:**
- BLS
- ACLS
- **Floating Area(s):**
- All MedSurg units, Stepdown units,
COVID unit, and ER holding.
- **Dress Code:**
- Scrub Colors: All white or all navy blue, or
white top and navy blue pants.
- **Weekend and On-call Requirements:**
- Every other weekend
- **Experience Requirement:**
- Minimum of 2 years
