Job Opportunity – Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN – West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12 nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, weekdays with some weekends. Typically 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; may flex to 1:5 in emergencies. Blocked schedules will be considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon).
Highlights:
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension
- Stepdown unit with variable acuity; many patients would qualify as Progressive Care or Telemetry in larger facilities
- Patient population primarily cardiac, including cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology procedures, and general medical/surgical patients
- Cerner EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 36-bed unit with daily census of approximately 34 patients, serving adult and geriatric populations
- Holiday requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
Requirements:
- Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state; pending license accepted for submission)
- Minimum 2 years total RN experience required
- 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
- BCLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Proficiency in IV starts, cardiac telemetry monitoring, and EKG strip interpretation required
- Experience with Cerner charting system required
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
- Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
- Dress code: burgundy and/or white scrubs (not provided)
