Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Registered Nurse – Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit
Location: Morgantown, WV
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit.
- Monitor patients with cardiac conditions and those recovering from cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures.
- Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms and ECG strips.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac or vasoactive drips according to facility protocols.
- Manage oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, central lines, PICC lines, and other vascular access devices.
- Monitor patients' conditions, recognize changes in acuity, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery patients.
- Respond to emergencies and collaborate with rapid response and code teams when needed.
- Follow infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety protocols.
- Float to other units as required to meet facility needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1.5–2 years of nursing experience.
- At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
- 2 years of Stepdown experience required.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips.
- IV insertion and telemetry skills required.
- BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Cerner EMR experience required.
- Previous travel nursing experience is not required.
- Must be comfortable caring for patients with varying acuity levels.
