Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit in Herrin, Illinois. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, with a significant focus on neurological conditions, including stroke recovery.
The successful candidate will manage patient care similar to a medical-surgical floor, excluding Heparin drips, and will be integral to the patient's recovery journey. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons.
- Demonstrate the ability to use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills.
- Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance professional competency.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an inpatient medical or rehabilitation setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) or similar stroke certification.
- Experience with a high neurological patient population.
