Candidates must have experience in Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation. The facility is an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. It offers specialized programs for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries. The goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery and return home as soon as possible. Nurses will work to maximize health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive rehabilitation programs. This facility is accredited by relevant regulatory agencies for its rehabilitation program and specialty services. The unit has a high patient acuity that resembles a medical-surgical unit. Nurses are expected to assist nursing assistants and respond to call lights for patient safety. There is an attendance policy that all staff must adhere to. Staff are required to take mandatory 30-minute breaks unless otherwise approved. Each nurse will have two 15-minute paid breaks during a 12-hour shift. Staff must clock out for breaks and are not permitted to stay past their scheduled shift end time without approval. The patient population consists of adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation services with high acuity needs. Equipment includes mobility tools and machines necessary for patient care and documentation.
