Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in the operating room, supporting surgeons throughout surgical procedures
- Perform first assist duties including tissue handling, providing exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the perioperative process
- Conduct preoperative patient assessments and contribute to postoperative care planning
- Adhere to sterile technique and infection control protocols in the OR environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio or compact eligibility
- Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification or recognized RNFA training program completion
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Prior experience functioning in an OR first assist role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CNOR certification preferred
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties
- Familiarity with a variety of surgical instruments, equipment, and techniques
