Cardiac Surgery RN First Assistant

Key Responsibilities- Work under the direction and supervision of the attending physician to provide intraoperative assistance including exposure, hemostasis, and closure
- Perform other intraoperative technical functions to help the surgeon carry out safe operations with optimal patient outcomes
- Primarily serve as second assistant within cardiac surgical cases
- Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate the needs of the surgical patient throughout the perioperative period
- Cover regional call to support the cardiac surgery program across a multi-site health system
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Certification or training as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
- Experience in cardiac surgical cases
- Ability to perform intraoperative first and second assist functions
- Availability for regional on-call coverage
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a perioperative or scrub role within cardiac surgery
- Familiarity with multi-site health system environments and regional call coverage
