Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care to patients within a behavioral health setting. The position requires a blend of clinical expertise, empathy, and communication to ensure the best outcomes for patients facing mental health challenges.

Shift and Schedule

3x12 hour shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM
Every Other Weekend (EOW) requirement
Floating between units as needed
Holidays may be required

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care by assessing and monitoring patients' physical and mental health needs.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families about these treatments.
Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure effective treatment plans.
Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in distress following best practices in nonviolent crisis intervention.

Qualifications

Active North Carolina license or multi-state license for registered nurses.
Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience.
At least 1 year of travel nursing experience.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
Recent experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
Must reside more than 40 miles from the facility.
