Seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night-shift contract caring for adult patients in Newland, North Carolina. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Location: Newland, North Carolina
- Healthcare Setting: Adult behavioral health
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 8, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, plus holidays as needed
- Float Requirement: Float as needed within the hospital
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic; recent experience required
Behavioral Health RN Job Requirements
- Active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible multistate license
- At least 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
- Recent Epic electronic medical record experience
- Experience caring for adult patients in a behavioral health setting
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, holidays as needed, and float within the hospital
Behavioral Health Nursing Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide compassionate nursing care to adult behavioral health patients
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary care team
- Use therapeutic communication and approved crisis-intervention techniques to promote a safe, supportive environment
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with providers, mental health professionals, and support staff to promote positive patient outcomes
- Follow behavioral health safety protocols and assist with unit needs, including floating as assigned
