Psychiatric RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of recent behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
• Experience with de-escalation techniques preferred
• Ability to work across adolescent, adult, and geriatric behavioral health units as needed
• Comfortable with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Experience with EHR documentation preferred
• Must be reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care
• Support patients across adolescent, adult, and older adult behavioral health units
• Use de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Administer medications and monitor patient response according to care plans
• Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient progress
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit assignments
• Promote a respectful, healing environment for patients and staff
