Execute the nursing process to provide effective, evidence-based care including the assessment, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services for patients, families, and the community. Responsibilities include observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs as guided by an individualized and ongoing plan of care. The RN works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Communicates in a clear and respectful manner with both patients and teammates during every encounter. Represent the organization with the highest level of customer service. Follow the mission, vision, and values of the organization by demonstrating integrity, reliability, emotional maturity, compassion, and caring for patients, families, and coworkers. Ensure a positive influence on morale. Involve patients and families in establishing care goals. Implement interventions for the attainment of care goals that reflect resourceful involvement of team members. Facilitate the linking of patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed. Demonstrate competence in the implementation of the technical skills required for the care of patients and families. Demonstrate initiative in remaining current on organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Act as a resource to others. Evaluation of care is reflective of the attainment of care goals. Demonstrate proficiency and compliance with established practices in clinical documentation. Demonstrate critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions, prioritizing both planned and unplanned events, and proactively addressing potential and actual problems. Recognize and incorporate the value and relevance of research and evidence-based practice in nursing. Be self-directed in assuming responsibilities within the team and care delivery system. Assist peers and team members in acquiring department-specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors. Appropriately delegate to members of the care team and follow the delegation process, including evaluation. Demonstrate leadership at the point of care, regardless of role or tenure, through clinical decision-making, advocacy, collaboration, and influence on patient outcomes, professional practice, and the work environment. Remain flexible in assisting patients, families, and teammates as needed and assume other appropriate responsibilities not noted above. Unit Description: Inpatient acute psychiatric unit with adult and adolescent beds. Requirements: BLS, CPI certifications.
