Must-Have:
- 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience required
- Skills checklist specific to psych/behavioral health required
- Experience with all age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics required
- Recent/current inpatient experience highly preferred
Description:
We are seeking a registered nurse specializing in behavioral health to join our inpatient adult mental health unit.
The position requires floating across various campuses to similar units.
The nurse will work with acute psychiatric patients who exhibit major mental health illnesses and chronic behaviors, which may include violence, aggression, mania, and self-harm.
Candidates must have experience in de-escalation techniques, with certifications such as MOAB or CPI preferred, although they can be obtained during onboarding.
The nurse will be responsible for patient care and ensuring a safe environment for all individuals within the unit.
A thorough knowledge of utilization of restraints and other safety protocols is necessary.
Candidates must have a proven ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Availability to work one to two of the three upcoming winter holidays is required unless the unit is closed.
