Description:
Adolescent and adult patients will be cared for; the nurse must float between both populations.
Blocked scheduling is available, allowing for three shifts in a row.
The charting system used is Cerner.
Patients may present with mild dementia.
Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) is required for some patients.
Patients may experience withdrawal symptoms requiring intravenous intervention.
Some patients may have mental disorders that affect their ability to maintain adequate nutrition or self-care.
Previous history of reactions to psychotropic medications requires monitoring and adjustment of medications.
Acute diseases that require close monitoring will be present among the patient population.
Diabetes management monitoring that requires evaluation every four hours is also needed.
