Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred; PALS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - IV insulin protocols - Titration of insulin drips - Blood product administration - Central line care and management - Peripheral line care and management - Starting IVs - High flow nasal cannula management - Isolation precautions - Wound care management Description: This is a mixed acuity unit specializing in PCU and medical-surgical telemetry patients. Ratios are adjusted based on patient acuity. Flexible patient ratios are expected, with a range of 3 to 7 patients per nurse during night shifts. You will be required to float to sister units as needed. Weekend shifts are part of the work schedule. Candidates should have experience with a variety of patient diagnoses including surgical pre and post care, trauma, ortho, and overflow medical cases. A rare pediatric patient may be present, and travelers should have relevant experience. Preferred experience includes TCAR and various special procedures. The unit utilizes electronic health record systems for documentation and medication dispensing. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
