Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Upstate New York

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Upstate New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend required. Must be available for every other holiday as needed.

Highlights:
  • Progressive Care Unit supporting long-term pulmonary patients, ENT surgery, and post-surgical patients requiring stepdown-level care
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5, caring for adult and geriatric populations
  • EPIC charting system; prior EPIC experience required
  • 528-bed acute care teaching facility with Magnet recognition and Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center certification
  • Affiliated with nationally recognized healthcare organizations, featuring specialized institutes for cardiac care, oncology, and neuroscience
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
Requirements:
  • Active New York Single State RN license (must be in hand prior to submission; NY is not a Compact state)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in progressive care, stepdown, or telemetry settings
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip management (no titration), blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
  • Willingness to float within skillset as needed
