Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – New York

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 15-week contract; Every other weekend required; Holiday availability required every other holiday as needed; Patient ratio 1:4-5
Highlights:
- Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with pulmonary conditions, ENT surgery, and surgical step-down patients
- 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility with Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center certification
- EPIC charting system experience required; 16 hours of orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Floating required within skillset to ICU and/or medical-surgical units
- 24-bed unit with daily census of 22 patients; scrub color is any combination of navy blue and white
Requirements:
- Active New York Single State RN license in hand (NY is not a compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of registered nurse experience; previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 or higher
- EPIC charting system experience is mandatory
- Strong telemetry and step-down level care skills including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Proficiency in oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management
- Experience managing cardiac drips without titration and implementing isolation precautions
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Previous charge experience preferred
