Must-Have: Competency in arterial lines and ability to titrate drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin.
Description:
This position requires flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Successful candidates will be team players with good communication skills.
RNs will monitor and interpret telemetry strips.
Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, and renal failure.
Ratios for patient care are typically 1:4-5 both days and nights.
There are charge nurses on each shift who also take patient assignments.
There will be patient care technicians available to assist with care.
RNs may be required to float to other units to accommodate patient needs.
Weekend and holiday requirements will be specified.
Candidates should embody a commitment to patient experience and communication.
The nurse will work in a diverse environment serving various cultural populations.
All policies, such as fingernail safety, must be adhered to.
Additional time off requests will be limited during the contract period.
RNs are expected to handle complex patient needs with professionalism and care.
The charting system used is EPIC.
Navy blue scrubs are the designated dress code for this unit.
