Description:
The Step-Down Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the critical care step-down unit.
The nurse will monitor patients recovering from complex medical conditions and surgeries.
Management of patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, and cardiac dysrhythmias is required.
The role includes post-heart catheter care and monitoring for patients who have undergone vascular procedures.
Frequent vital sign checks and neurovascular assessments are essential components of patient care.
The nurse will manage medications, including emergency medications and cardiac drips, with the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage IVs.
Infection prevention and proper isolation practices are critical to maintaining a safe environment.
The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Experience in procedural sedation administration and monitoring is also required.
Candidates must demonstrate strong professional skills in managing cardiac and neurological patients effectively.
