Experience:
- 24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
- Client/neurosurgery care experience required
- Orthopedic care experience required
- Trauma care experience highly preferred
- Drip experience with Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium/Na required
- Specialty equipment experience with telemetry, chest tubes, and Airvo highly preferred
- EKG/strip reading and telemetry experience required
- Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
License:
- Active Iowa license or compact multistate license required
Certifications:
- AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS ACLS required
- AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS BLS required
- NIHSS preferred
Must-Have:
- Active nursing license
- Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, or director from within the last 24 months preferred
- De-escalation certificate preferred (CPI, MOAB, MAB or SAMA accepted)
Description:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a progressive care unit.
The nurse will manage patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
The role involves working with patients requiring advanced medical care, including those with neurology, neurosurgery, and orthopedic conditions.
Effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential.
The nurse will have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6.
Floating to other campuses may be required.
The RN must be willing to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.
A comprehensive understanding of telemetry and related equipment is necessary.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional care and maintaining patient safety at all times.
