License: Active compact nursing license required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Must-Have:
- Epic experience
- Cardiac PCU experience
- Surgical telemetry experience
- Experience managing groin and radial band
Description:
Perm candidates of any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least three months.
Travelers must be flexible to float to like units as needed.
Every other weekend is required.
Must have experience in surgical telemetry, including open heart surgery and vascular management.
Must possess strong IV skills.
Experience should include NIH and telemetry for 2-3 years, with optional experience in VAD and TAVR.
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may increase to 1:5 at midnight.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing breathing treatments and chest tube care
- Administering blood and blood products
- Managing defibrillation and epicardial pacing
- Providing care for LVAD and open heart patients 24-28 hours post-op
- Interpreting telemetry for dysrhythmias
Essential skills include accessing and managing ports, cardiac telemetry, and phlebotomy.
Travelers may need to float between sister facilities.
Job requirements include working three of the five major holidays.
References are required covering at least one year of experience within the last three years.
Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may lead to termination of employment.
The facility does not accept certain background check results.
Nurses may be provided with necessary communication devices at no cost for work-related activities.
