Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Step Down RN – North Carolina
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- ICU step-down unit with 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratios operating similar to an intensive care environment
- Diverse patient population including post-operative cases, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds, and rapid response patients
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 13-week assignment or longer available, floating to sister ICCU unit as needed
- Strong critical care experience required with emphasis on vasoactive drip titration and arterial line management
- 24-hour orientation with comprehensive hospital week-one onboarding
Requirements:
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of progressive care, step-down, or ICU experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Strong experience with arterial lines, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and central line management
- Competency in blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and heparin protocols
- Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start date
