Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night shifts available Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in telemetry License: Current RN license in California Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCCN preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience CIWA and EKG/Cardiac Rhythm Recognition Trach care expertise Description: Parnassus 12-hour variable shifts available. Must be able to float to other facilities. Completed references must be submitted at the time of submission. Required experience includes telemetry of at least two years. Experience with CIWA and cardiac rhythm recognition is necessary. Trach care expertise is preferred. Important to submit all requests for time off at the time of offer. Requests for time off sent after the contract is signed will not be considered. Previous charge experience in a nursing role is preferred. Experience with a patient ratio management is essential. Charting system experience required; familiarity with Epic is preferred. Unit details include care for adults and geriatric patients with a daily census of 30. The unit supports complex medical cases with multiple comorbidities. Frequent transfers to ICU and involvement of rapid response teams are common. The work environment is fast-paced with continuous interventions. Special procedures involve respiratory care, including trach suctioning and management. All nurses must be competent in the use of standard equipment and protocols. A collaborative interdisciplinary support team is available. Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be on the same unit. Married couples may not work on the same unit. Resources may be reassigned to different departments as necessary during assignments. Teaching hospital experience is required. Modules will vary by specialty and should be completed annually.
