Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years Telemetry Experience License: Required RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCCN Must-Have: - Ability to float to other facilities - CIWA and EKG Course/Cardiac Rhythm Recognition Experience - Trach Care Expertise Description: This position requires the ability to float to different facilities as needed. A minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience is required. Candidates must have completed CIWA and EKG Course/Cardiac Rhythm Recognition. Trach care expertise is preferred. Applicants must have a current RN license. BLS, ACLS, and PCCN certifications are required for this role. The work environment involves caring for a diverse patient population with complex medical needs. The unit has a fast-paced atmosphere, requiring frequent assessments and interventions. Nurses will perform various tasks, including managing cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias. Candidates should be proficient in tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula management, and telemetry monitoring. Additional skills in wound care and the use of rapid response teams may be necessary. Nurses will be responsible for patient assessments and working closely with an interdisciplinary team. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various co-morbidities. The role may involve involvement in frequent transfers to the ICU and managing patient emergencies. Daily census and patient ratios will be addressed in further orientation.
