Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Georgia

Schedule: 36 or 48-hour weekly guarantee; 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required; patient ratio 1:4; holiday rotation required based on assignment length
Highlights:
- Neuro/Stroke PCU floor with mixed medical, respiratory, and cardiac patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring
- 36-bed unit with average daily census of 30 patients; PCU-level acuity assignments
- Experience with titrating cardiac drips, BiPAP management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract; RTO blackout during Spring Break (April 4-12)
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Georgia or Compact state licensure
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac telemetry monitoring, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with central line care, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
- Proficiency with Epic charting system preferred
- Willingness to float within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Full compliance documentation required prior to start date; bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
